Text Effect 1

Lets
begin by creating a new window (ctrl+N). Make sure that its fairly
large, I chose 9 by 9 inches, I also chose
"Grayscale."

now,
use the type tool ( )
and type in what you want your image to say. I chose "Digital
Delirium" because it the coolest name, ever. I used font
type 04b_09 / 48point / regular / sharp.

Now
for the fun part. Blending Options! Ok, once you click the word
"blending options, you will see a window come up. For this
particular image I chose to set the stroke to 1 and made its color
white.
Then, I set my self a drop shadow.
Opacity 100% and everything else 0 except for size which I set as 1.
Then check anti-alias. |

Now
duplicate the text layer.
After its duplicated, make sure that this layer is below your original
text layer. |

After
selecting the copy of your text title, go to filer, blur,
Gaussian blur. I set the blur to 3.3 pixels. |

Now
click the newly blurred layer. Go to Edit, Transform, then Scale. Drag
the sides of the image as far right and as far left as possible.
You should get an effect similar to that in the picture.

Paint
it Black, the background it is. Click on your lowest layer (add
new one if you don't already have it) and fill it black. Now click
your original text layer (which should be on top) and change the layer
style to Difference (feel free to play around for different
affects).

Now
crop the fat. Use the marquee tool ( )
and the go to image, crop. |

Your
Finished Product should look something like this. Good Job!
